Job summary

Synechron is seeking a Senior Business Data Analyst in Charlotte, NC to develop and manage metadata repositories, ensuring accessible data definitions, sources, and lineage. You will harness SQL, PL/SQL, Hadoop, and Spark to support data-driven decision making and build dashboards in Tableau or Excel.

Collaborate with IT, compliance, and business units to define data requirements, deliver clear data insights, and produce documentation and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Experience as a Data Analyst in banking/financial services.
• Strong data sourcing, controls and metadata management knowledge.
• Proficiency in SQL with ability to write complex queries.
• Experience with PL/SQL, Hadoop and Spark for data processing.
• Familiarity with Tableau/Power BI and advanced Excel.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify, source, and integrate data from multiple systems to support analysis and decisions.
• Establish data controls to ensure integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and manage metadata repositories for data definitions, sources, and lineage.
• Use SQL to flatten hierarchical data structures for analysis and reporting.
• Read PL/SQL, Hadoop, and Spark code to understand data workflows and improve pipelines.
• Create dashboards and reports using Tableau/Excel for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with IT/compliance/business units to define data requirements.
• Prepare documentation and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.
