Job summary

Synechron seeks a skilled Business Analyst / Data Analyst in Charlotte, NC to transform and validate data, develop scalable data solutions, and ensure accuracy of analytics outputs. You will work with Python, PySpark, Hadoop, and Scala while collaborating with data engineers, QA, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities include data requirements gathering, testing, data quality, and building automated test cases with pytest.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Experience in a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Data Quality Analyst, QA Analyst, or similar role.
• Strong programming experience in Python.
• Hands-on experience with PySpark for distributed data processing.
• Experience with Hadoop and related big data technologies.
• Knowledge of Scala, preferably in a data engineering or Spark environment.
• Experience writing automated tests using pytest.
• Experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium, Robot Framework, Cucumber, JUnit, TestNG.
• Understanding of software testing concepts: unit, integration, regression, end-to-end, data validation.
• Strong understanding of SQL, data structures, data transformation, and data quality concepts.
• Understanding of NoSQL concepts with data modeling and query optimization.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and data requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, data engineers, developers, and QA teams to deliver data-driven solutions.
• Perform data analysis, profiling, and validation across multiple sources.
• Develop and maintain data processing scripts and analytical solutions using Python and PySpark.
• Work with large datasets within the Hadoop ecosystem.
• Use Scala for data processing and application development where required.
• Create and execute unit, integration, regression, and data validation tests.
• Develop automated tests using pytest and other tools.
• Validate data pipelines, transformations, reports, and analytical outputs for accuracy.
• Identify data quality issues and coordinate with technical teams for resolution.
• Prepare functional specs, mapping documents, test plans and acceptance criteria.
• Support user acceptance testing and assist users in understanding results.
• Monitor performance and recommend improvements.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and backlogs.
• Prepare reports, dashboards, and documentation to communicate insights.
