Job summary
Collins Aerospace is seeking a data services engineer to steward work intake, governance, and secure data engineering across cloud and hybrid environments. You will partner with finance, engineering, and operations to translate priorities into scalable data solutions.
Responsibilities include enforcing access controls, supporting data classification, and aligning with cross-functional teams using Jira, Confluence, Planview, and ServiceNow.
Qualifications
- Requires university degree and 8+ years of experience or advanced degree with 5+ years.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Experience with data pipelines spanning structured and unstructured data.
- Ability to classify or secure data sets per regulatory needs.
- Experience optimizing processes in large organizations with Jira/Confluence/Planview/ServiceNow.
- Experience with cloud data services (AWS/Azure/GCP) and ETL/ELT.
- Strong data modeling and secure data architecture understanding.
- Able to work in Agile teams with cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Own work intake processes for a large data services group across finance, engineering and operations.
- Enforce strict data access controls, classification, and data protection across environments.
- Serve as focal point for centralized cyber and compliance processes.
- Optimize data service engagement while ensuring compliance and availability.
- Translate prioritization into execution with stakeholders across digital and business.
- Collaborate to translate complex requirements into reliable data engineering solutions.
- Improve data workflows for performance and resiliency in cloud/hybrid platforms.
- Develop reusable data patterns and governance-aligned frameworks.
- Support production systems with data integrity, lineage and auditability.
