Overview

The Counter UAS (C-UAS) Threat Assessment Data Analyst supports the Partner Engagement Division, Global Integration Department (GI), Operations Integration Directorate, Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) by enabling and facilitating interagency groups, activities, and support to achieve DTRA counter Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) and counter improvised threat operations, activities, and investments (OAIs). The position coordinates and plans with international partners to facilitate and enable enhanced combined force effectiveness in countering WMDs, improvised threats, and threat networks.

Responsibilities

This position supports work with designated partner nations to share the DTRA developed Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) threat assessment methodology which requires understanding of operational and trend analyses. The selected employee will be required to travel to and work with designated foreign partners to share DTRA’s methodology for developing C-UAS threat assessments. Based on their expertise, they will help develop and execute a program of instruction with the partner nation. Specifically, they will:

  • Share with designated partner nations the latest methodologies to exploit gathered data from counter small UAS (C-sUAS) systems.
  • Share with designated partner nations current and new automation methodologies concerning the flow of C-sUAS system data from outside sources to internal servers/databases (Cloud/ Structured Query Language (SQL)).
  • Share with designated partner nations new insights resulting from C-sUAS systems data.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of Department of Defense or Department of State experience.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in cloud, or other Database Management Systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visual Basic for Application (VBA), Microsoft Power BI, R and Python programming language, and SQL.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (SAA) or AZ-104 desired and/or Security +.
  • Teaching or training experience, especially with international audiences.
  • Two (2) years Counter Improvised Threat Assessment experience is desired.

Physical Requirements: Employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Must have ability to work with a computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
