The University of Virginia seeks a Senior Data Analyst in Charlottesville, Virginia.
The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing data to draw conclusions and provide sophisticated analysis and reports. Support efforts to develop and maintain data standards. Assist in business and system re-engineering and architecture development. Act as an organizational consultant on database matters. Serve as a subject matter expert in special projects related to specific data types. Perform molecular biology techniques such as molecular cloning, RT-PCR, and protein interaction assays like ELISA or other cell-based assays. Maintain bacterial and mammalian cell cultures. Conduct statistical analysis using R or other packages. Perform bioinformatic analysis with tools like Bioconductor or Python packages. Collaborate with laboratory members to develop functional protein assays. Analyze data, identify patterns, and report trends. Provide recommendations based on findings. Create graphs, reports, and presentations to communicate results effectively. Develop content for seminars, forums, and presentations. Present data clearly to stakeholders. Ensure compliance with data management policies, including security and privacy. Perform bioinformatics analysis. Remote work is permitted.
Required experience includes familiarity with Github, R coding, genomic sequence analysis, mass spectrometry methods (ESI, MALDI), molecular biology and analytical assays, presenting results, and performing bioinformatics analysis. Remote work permitted.
