Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to own architecture and deliver production-grade data and AI solutions for customers. You will lead design decisions across data engineering, AI, and application development, and work closely with engineering, product, and customer teams to deliver measurable outcomes.

The role requires 6+ years in data or software engineering, strong coding skills in Python/Scala/JS, and deep Spark experience.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Comfortable writing code in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks.
• Working knowledge of two or more Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Design and deployment of scalable end-to-end data architectures and applications.
• Experience with technical project delivery, managing scope and timelines, and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead impactful customer technical projects by delivering production-grade systems and building reference architectures.
• Guide strategic customers in end-to-end design, build and deployment of big data and AI applications.
• Architect and design secure, scalable solutions aligned with customer needs and Databricks best practices.
• Collaborate with Databricks teams to ensure delivery meets engagement requirements.
• Provide feedback to product and support teams to guide rapid resolution of issues.
• Embed with customer teams across technical ICs to executives to understand challenges and deliver impact.
• Contribute accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that scale across accounts and influence the product roadmap.
