Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to lead production-grade data and AI solutions for customers. You will own the architecture, guide design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems across data engineering, AI, and application development.

This role requires strong coding skills, cloud experience, and the ability to travel up to 20%. Ideal candidates have 6+ years in data engineering or software engineering, hands-on Spark expertise, and Databricks Certification.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
• Familiar with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Design and deployment of production end-to-end data architectures.
• Experience working with enterprise clients and managing stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel to customers 20% of the time.
• Databricks Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade solutions and reference architectures on Databricks platform.
• Own end-to-end design, build and deployment of data and AI applications.
• Guide customers on architecture and design decisions for secure, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to deliver engagements.
• Provide feedback to product teams and support rapid issue resolution during engagements.
