Job summary

Databricks is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to work with customers, owning architecture and delivering end-to-end data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform. The role blends data engineering, AI, and application development with strong customer empathy to drive measurable outcomes.

The FDE will lead design decisions, build production-ready reference architectures, and collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams, traveling up to 20% to client sites.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data engineering, analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala or JS/TS.
• Experience with cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark.
• CI/CD for production deployments.
• Knowledge of MLOps and ML/AI models.
• Strong client-facing delivery and architecture skills.
• Willingness to travel 20% to customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade customer technical projects by delivering production‑grade systems and reference architectures.
• Guide strategic customers through end‑to‑end design, build and deployment of big data and AI apps.
• Own architecture decisions, ensuring secure and scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with Databricks teams to meet customer needs and provide feedback.
• Embed with customer teams and manage stakeholders across technical ICs to executives.
• Create accelerators and best practices to scale impact across accounts.
