Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join our team and work directly with customers to architect, build, and productionize data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform. You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and deliver end-to-end data pipelines, ML models, and customer-facing applications while collaborating with engineering, product, and customer success teams.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in data/engineering, deep Spark knowledge, and strong communication

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data engineering, data platforms, analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficient coding in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Spark.
• CI/CD for production deployments.
• Knowledge of MLOps and ML/AI models.
• Design and deployment of end-to-end data architectures.
• Experience delivering technical projects with timelines and outcomes.
• Excellent documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience with enterprise clients and stakeholder management.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.
• Databricks Certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade systems and reference architectures for customer projects.
• Guide strategic customers through end-to-end design, build, and deployment.
• Bootstrap or implement customer projects with security and scalability.
• Coordinate with engineering, product, and support to deliver engagement components.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver impact.
• Contribute accelerators and best practices that scale across accounts.
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and align with Databricks best practices.
• Travel to customers up to 20%.
