Job summary

Abstra is seeking a Sr Data and AI Engineer to design and deliver modern data platforms powering analytics and generative AI initiatives. You will build scalable data lakes, warehouses, and pipelines in cloud-native architectures, emphasizing automation and CI/CD.

The role focuses on hands-on engineering, IaC, and collaboration with architects, cloud engineers, and clients to transform complex requirements into secure, production-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering or AI/ML
• At least 1 year in the other domain
• Experience writing SQL (any dialect) including stored procedures, CTEs
• Significant programming experience (Python, Scala, Java) with Git
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP cloud platforms
• Ability to engage with customers and set expectations without a PM
• IaC experience: Terraform/OpenTofu/CloudFormation
• Data warehouses: Redshift/Snowflake/BigQuery
• NoSQL databases and concepts: DynamoDB/Cassandra/Redis
• Data streaming: Spark/Kafka/Kinesis

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data pipelines, platforms, lakes, and warehouses
• Deliver ML and GenAI solutions via IaC and CI/CD
• Stay current on AWS and GenAI developments
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cloud teams
• Build reusable data products for future engagements
