Job summary

Abstra is hiring an experienced Python Developer to join our offshore AI/hyper-automation team supporting a top-tier global pharmaceutical client. You will design and maintain Python-based automation, build data pipelines, and develop Power BI insights for regulatory and operational workflows.

The role requires 5+ years of Python experience, Power BI expertise, and AWS familiarity. You will collaborate with analysts and platform specialists across onshore/offshore teams in a fast-growing

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Python development, production-grade code and testing.
• Power BI experience building datasets, reports, and dashboards.
• Strong Python data libraries (pandas, NumPy, requests, SQLAlchemy) and API patterns.
• Experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, SageMaker or similar).
• Familiarity with AI/LLM concepts and agentic AI solutions preferred.
• SQL proficiency with relational and cloud stores.
• MS 365 familiarity (SharePoint, Teams, Excel) and enterprise workflows.
• Comfort in Agile/Scrum with distributed teams.
• Excellent written/spoken English communication.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• Life sciences/pharma/regulated industry exposure a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Python automation and AI/agent solutions for regulatory and compliance processes.
• Build data pipelines and integrations between enterprise systems (AWS, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Veeva).
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with analysts and platform specialists to deploy to AWS.
• Implement robust error handling, logging, and monitoring for auditability.
• Write unit, integration and regression tests to sustain code quality.
• Contribute to code reviews, docs and team knowledge sharing.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and communicate progress to onshore leads.
• Stay current on AI/agentic and Python ecosystem practices.
