Job summary

Armanino LLP is seeking a senior data/platform engineer to architect and operate cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Fabric, Databricks) and own BI delivery infrastructure (Power BI/Tableau). You will set reliability, security, and governance standards and lead deployment and data architecture decisions across teams.

You will work independently, make architecture calls, and own outcomes while collaborating with engineering and client teams to scale analytics capabilities and reduce operational toil.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data engineering, platform engineering, analytics engineering, or cloud operations with production ownership.
• 2 years of representative accounting experience.
• Deep production-grade fluency with Snowflake, Fabric, or Databricks and working knowledge of the others.
• Strong BI experience with Power BI or Tableau including data modeling and security.
• CI/CD ownership: Git, branching, PR discipline, and pipelines.
• Proficient scripting in Python or PowerShell.
• Advanced troubleshooting and clear communication to technical/non-technical audiences.
• Strong SQL and performance tuning, indexing, partitioning, and query plans.
• Cloud fundamentals: IAM, resource organization, logging, monitoring.
• Clear technical writing: runbooks and architecture docs.
• Certifications (Azure, Snowflake, Databricks) are a plus.
• Hands-on AI/ML/GenAI enablement experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Own design and day-to-day operation of cloud data platforms, including architecture and access models.
• Define and enforce platform standards for naming, tagging, cost management, and environment separation.
• Drive platform maturity by identifying gaps and implementing fixes without prompts.
• Design, build, and own CI/CD workflows for data assets (pipelines, models, reports) including promotion and rollback.
• Create reusable templates, checklists, and release docs for the team to deploy against.
• Set deployment bar and enforce it through review and automation.
• Serve as the technical authority for Fabric, Snowflake, or Databricks plus BI tools (Power BI/Tableau).
• Lead onboarding and enablement for engineering and client teams with patterns, guardrails, and reusable solutions.
• Own performance: diagnose and resolve query, job, refresh, and capacity issues.
• Own platform reliability: monitoring, SLOs, and runbooks; drive incident response and post-incident reviews.
• Lead security and governance: least-privilege access, secret handling, and data governance guidance.
