Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Senior Data Access Protection Engineering Specialist to advance our Data Asset Protection platforms. You will design and deploy enterprise protections, automate controls, and partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal and Engineering to ensure regulatory alignment.

Strong DevOps, Python/PowerShell, and cloud security skills are essential. You will contribute to policy as code, CI/CD pipelines, and platform tooling while leveraging analytics to improve risk signals and data

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Experience with data protection technologies such as Varonis Platform Architecture.
• Knowledge of cloud security principles and tools (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Exposure to data analytics tools and SQL, Splunk.
• Experience with AD and enterprise security tools.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Kanban/Scrum).
• Proficient in Python and PowerShell; strong problem solving.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, containers, and orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise Data Asset Protection platforms aligned with Risk objectives.
• Translate regulatory and risk requirements into scalable engineering solutions with automation.
• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Engineering teams to align controls.
• Contribute to architecture of data protection capabilities, policy as code, and automation.
• Apply DevSecOps standards: secure coding, CI/CD, observability, resilience, reliability.
• Develop, deploy and maintain Python and PowerShell services and platform tooling.
• Implement control monitoring, telemetry and evidence generation with Risk and Audit teams.
• Use analytics and dashboards to surface risk signals and improve controls.
• Share knowledge and align work with broader platform strategy.
