Job summary

Recorded Future, a leader in cyber threat intelligence, is seeking an expert to own dark web ecosystem analysis. You will navigate underground forums and covert channels, build access strategies, and produce actionable intelligence for product and customers.

You will lead with OPSEC discipline, collaborate across teams, and shape research directions while representing the company in external forums and webinars.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on dark web threat research with demonstrable collection outcomes across forums, marketplaces, or covert channels.
• Deep, current expertise in major criminal forums and darknet markets and their dynamics.
• Proven ability to operate within closed communities while maintaining OPSEC and legal compliance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the company-wide expert on dark web and underground community dynamics for product, engineering, sales, and analysts.
• Make and own strategic collection decisions on forums, markets, and channels to pursue; prioritize intelligence areas.
• Identify, evaluate, and gain access to criminal forums, darknet marketplaces, Telegram channels, and covert infrastructure within legal boundaries.
• Develop and maintain collection strategies, personas, and source documentation to sustain access.
• Partner with engineering to translate research into automated collection pipelines.
• Monitor sources for operational changes and adapt strategies accordingly.
• Produce finished intelligence on threat actors, community dynamics, and underground infrastructure.
• Collaborate across teams as the go-to voice on underground community intelligence.
