Job summary

Fuss & O'Neill is seeking a Senior Water Resources / Senior Dam Engineer in Kennebunk, ME. This hybrid, full-time role leads dam repair/removal projects, manages scopes and budgets, and mentors junior staff across New England. A PE license and 10+ years in water resources are preferred; travel up to 10–15% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 10+ years of experience in water resources and dam engineering.
• Strong knowledge of dam safety regulations, codes, and industry standards.
• Experience leading dam repair and removal design efforts; ability to prepare reports and permit applications.
• Proficiency with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software; CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage dam repair and dam removal projects from planning through design, permitting, and construction support.
• Develop project scopes, fees, schedules, and budgets; oversee contracts and project delivery.
• Prepare and review engineering analyses, technical reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate and support local, state, and federal permitting and grant applications.
• Apply hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to support design and regulatory submissions.
• Collaborate with clients, regulators, and internal multidisciplinary teams across New England.
• Support business development efforts, including funding strategy development and proposals.
• Mentor and provide technical oversight to junior and mid-level engineers.
