Job summary

Fuss & O’Neill, Inc. in Hartford, CT, seeks a Senior Water Resources / Senior Dam Engineer to lead dam repair/removal and climate-resiliency projects. You will oversee planning, design, permitting, and mentoring of staff while coordinating with regulators and clients across New England. A PE license and extensive dam engineering experience are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
10+ years of experience in water resources and dam engineering.
Strong knowledge of dam safety regulations, codes, and industry standards.
Experience leading dam repair and removal design efforts.
Proven ability to prepare technical reports and permit applications.
Proficiency with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software; CAD tools.
Strong project management, communication, and mentoring skills.
Willingness to travel up to 10–15% throughout New England.

Responsibilities

Lead dam repair and removal projects from planning through design and permitting.
Develop scopes, fees, schedules, and budgets; oversee contracts.
Prepare and review engineering reports, plans, and cost estimates.
Coordinate permitting and grant applications with agencies.
Apply hydrologic/hydraulic modeling to support design and submissions.
Collaborate with clients, regulators, and internal teams across New England.
Support business development with funding strategy and proposals.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
