Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc. seeks an experienced Senior Dam Safety Engineer to join our national team. You will lead design and analysis for new and rehabilitated hydraulic structures, support FERC compliance, and mentor staff across GEI offices.

This role emphasizes strong technical leadership, client interaction, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The position offers hybrid work options with travel to project sites and regulatory meetings, enabling you to shape a growing dam safety

Qualifications

• PE license required with 10+ years of dam or hydropower experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering.
• FERC Part 12D knowledge or experience preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership; able to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of hydraulic structures including dams, spillways, and gates.
• Perform engineering analyses and develop design options for hydropower and dam safety projects.
• Conduct inspections, risk assessments, and regulatory support (CAs, PIs).
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and QA/QC oversight on projects.
• Support proposals, business development, and client engagement.
