Job summary

Boeing Defense, Space & Security’s Oklahoma City team is seeking an Experienced Contractor for Durability & Damage Tolerance (DaDT) analysis to join the Air Vehicle Engineering group on a 1-year contract. You will develop and verify finite element models, perform DaDT and fracture analyses, and help establish structural integrity for airframes while working onsite.

Responsibilities include applying loads in FEMs, ensuring ASIP compliance, and delivering robust repair and damage-tolerance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science in engineering from an accredited program.
• Ability to independently construct, execute, review and manage structural finite element models in DaDT.
• Expertise in linear elastic fracture mechanics and fatigue analysis.
• Experience with Paris Law and Spectrum Analysis.
• Experience with NASGRO, AFGROW, GROWTH, NASA/FLAGRO, BEAS or similar tools.
• 10+ years in structural analysis and in fracture/fatigue/DaDT analysis.

Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with methodology and processes for stress and DaDT analysis and FEM.
• Performs Failsafe Analyses, durability life calculations, and damage tolerance for critical parts.
• Verifies structural integrity by developing analytical methods and FEM simulations.
• Ensures ASIP requirements are met for airframe analysis and validation.
• Calculates inspection intervals based on crack growth rates.
• Develops FEM models for crack growth coefficients and validates results.
• Leads repair development and documentation of structural requirements.
• Works under minimal direction.
