Job summary

Ryan Specialty, LLC in the United States is seeking a Senior Property and Casualty Underwriter for Directors and Officers / Management Liability to oversee workflows, provide technical underwriting expertise, and drive new business while retaining portfolios. You will mentor staff, engage brokers, and collaborate with underwriting teams to forecast premiums, set terms, and align with regulatory guidelines.

Minimum 7-8 years P&C underwriting experience and a Bachelor's degree are required; CPCU

Qualifications

• Minimum 7-8 years of Property and Casualty underwriting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Risk Management, Actuarial and Business Administration preferred.
• Licenses: state P&C and/or surplus line licenses; CPCU/CIC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees workflows for new and renewal P&C business for D&O/Management Liability.
• Evaluates submissions, prices risks, and accepts or declines risk.
• Determines coverage limits and premiums based on risk assessment and portfolio management.
• Negotiates terms with brokers and identifies cross-sell opportunities.
• Develops strategic initiatives to grow the book and achieve targets.
• Mentors new staff and trains on underwriting processes.
