Job summary

Ryan Specialty National Programs is seeking an experienced Program Underwriter to join our team. The role focuses on underwriting, managing, and growing a profitable portfolio across niche commercial programs for service and contractor industries, with a strong emphasis on broker relationships and market growth.

The candidate should have 5+ years of commercial P&C underwriting experience, excellent analytical, financial, and risk assessment skills, and the ability to travel for broker and client

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial P&C underwriting experience.
• Strong analytical, financial, and risk assessment capabilities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; travel for broker, agency and customer meetings.
• Experience with wholesale distribution channels and broker relationships preferred.
• Preferred MGA, MGU, delegated authority, program business, or E&S underwriting experience.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage a profitable portfolio within delegated authority.
• Build and maintain broker and distribution relationships; expand market presence.
• Support program growth, leadership, and mentoring of junior underwriters.
• Identify opportunities, monitor portfolio performance and emerging trends.
