Under minimal supervision, you will analyze karyotypes and FISH, maintain documentation, and participate in ongoing professional development to stay current in the field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology or related field required.
• Five+ years experience in a cytogenetics lab preferred.
• ASCP Cytogenetic Technologist certification required.
• Maintenance CE hours as per licensing rules.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform routine and specialized cytogenetics activities.
• Develop protocols and oversee quality control in lab areas.
• Record pertinent data on standard forms for traceability.
• Participate in lab meetings and stay updated on changes.
• Analyze metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei for abnormalities.
• Maintain daily work log and exceed productivity benchmarks.
• Assist in protocol revisions and method improvements.
• Ensure compliance with QA and regulatory standards.
• Serve as technical resource for junior staff.
• Adhere to universal precautions and safety protocols.
