The University of Louisville is seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer V (Cybersecurity Engineer) to design, implement, and maintain enterprise cybersecurity systems and infrastructure on a hybrid basis. The role serves as a senior technical resource for security engineering across university assets, networks, cloud environments, and research systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field with 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing and maintaining enterprise cybersecurity systems.
• Strong understanding of higher education security requirements and controls.

Responsabilités

• Plan, implement, and maintain technical security measures across university infrastructure.
• Configure, operate, and maintain enterprise security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, EDR, DLP).
• Monitor and mitigate security risks; lead incident response activities.
• Engineer IAM services including directory, SSO, MFA, and privileged access.
• Develop security automation/orchestration to improve detection and response.
• Design/Review security architectures (zero trust, network segmentation, cloud posture).
• Support compliance (HIPAA/ePHI, FERPA, PCI-DSS, NIST 800-171).
• Collaborate with teams to deploy secure services; maintain runbooks/docs.
• Mentor colleagues and stay current on threats and best practices.
