Job summary

Highwire is seeking an Account Director, Public Relations (Cybersecurity) to lead high-impact cybersecurity communications programs for top clients. You will oversee 4–5 account teams, guide messaging, and drive visibility through multi-channel campaigns tailored for technical and business audiences.

The role emphasizes strategic leadership, client counsel, and mentorship, with a focus on threat intelligence, cloud security, and incident response.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of PR or communications experience in an agency setting.
• Deep experience with cybersecurity clients and related topics such as threat intelligence, cloud security, identity management, incident response, or infrastructure protection.
• Proven ability to develop and execute integrated communications programs that drive business impact.
• Strong understanding of the cybersecurity media landscape and analyst ecosystem.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity clients across threat intelligence, cloud security, identity management, incident response, and security operations.
• Develop integrated communications strategies that build brand leadership and trust in the cybersecurity industry.
• Provide senior-level counsel on messaging, positioning, media engagement, and reputation management.
• Translate complex cybersecurity topics into business-relevant narratives for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Serve as the senior client lead, ensuring high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction.
• Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts and mentor account teams.
• Partner with clients on executive visibility, thought leadership, and research-driven storytelling.
• Manage budgets, forecast hours, and allocate resources across account teams.
