Job summary

Highwire, a strategic marketing communications agency, seeks an Account Director for the Cybersecurity practice in New York. You will lead 4–5 account teams, shape messaging for cybersecurity clients, and guide executive visibility and thought leadership initiatives.

You will mentor teams, manage client relationships, and drive growth while delivering measurable outcomes through integrated programs and strong media relations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of PR or communications experience in an agency setting.
• Deep experience with cybersecurity clients including threat intelligence, SaaS security, network defense, identity, cloud security, or security operations platforms.
• Proven success developing and executing integrated communications programs that deliver measurable business impact.
• Strong understanding of the cybersecurity media landscape and security analyst ecosystem.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Demonstrated strategic leadership and client management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity clients across threat intelligence, cloud security, identity management, incident response, infrastructure protection, and security operations.
• Develop integrated communications strategies to build brand credibility and market leadership.
• Provide senior-level counsel on messaging, media engagement, and reputation management.
• Translate complex cybersecurity topics into business-relevant narratives for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Oversee budgets, forecast hours, and allocate resources across account teams.
• Mentor 3–4 direct reports and guide new business initiatives from research to pitches.
