Job summary

V2X is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Infrastructure Engineer III to join the Cybersecurity Engineering Team supporting the COBRA DANE radar program on Shemya Island, Alaska. You will serve as the on-site ISSO, leading system and network engineering tasks to ensure compliance with DoD and DAF directives.

Role involves a demanding deployment rotation with long on-island shifts; you will patch and harden Windows/Linux/Solaris environments, manage RMF artifacts, and coordinate with site personnel

Qualifications

• Active DoD security clearance required.
• Bachelor’s or higher in Cybersecurity/IT/CS with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• DoD 8140 intermediate (DCWF Code 451) certification required (e.g., Security+, SSCP, GSEC).
• Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux/Solaris and virtualization (VMware vSphere ESXi, Nutanix).
• Experience with RMF and cybersecurity policy reviews and artifacts.
• Independent, proactive professional with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• System Administration for local enclaves (physical/virtual servers, workstations, network infrastructure).
• Serve as the on-site ISSO and review/change security policies and procedures.
• Maintain and patch Windows, Linux, and Solaris servers across diverse environments.
• Establish and secure directory services (Windows/Linux) in trusted configurations.
• Review RMF SAP documentation and support authorization packages.
• Verify STIG/SRG compliance and document results.
• Monitor logs and issue trouble reports with timely submissions.
• Coordinate with DoD/DAF and site personnel for radar system maintenance.
