Job summary

American Airlines is seeking a Cybersecurity Senior Manager to lead governance, strategy, and execution across the cybersecurity program. You will supervise governance, product roadmaps, budget planning, and cross-functional collaboration to reduce risk and ensure regulatory readiness.

You will build strong teams, coach leaders, and report to senior executives, driving transparency and accountability across cyber initiatives for a global airline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IT, risk management, compliance, audit, governance, or related field.
• 5+ years of leadership experience.
• Experience delivering and leading cybersecurity, IT, risk management, compliance, audit, governance, or related activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity governance capabilities and set direction for policies, standards, and risk practices.
• Oversee cybersecurity products and capabilities, shaping roadmaps and investments.
• Translate strategy into prioritized roadmaps, rhythms, and measurable outcomes.
• Provide leadership for the Chief of Staff function in cybersecurity.
• Oversee work management, budgeting, forecasting, and portfolio reporting.
• Strengthen risk, compliance, and executive reporting with cross-functional alignment.
• Build and develop high-performing teams across complex initiatives.
