Job summary

Southwest Airlines Co. is seeking a Tech Lead Cybersecurity Engineer on the Governance, Risk & Compliance team. You will shape technology to manage cyber risk, automate evidence collection, and integrate scalable security controls across AWS-based platforms.

You will mentor engineers, drive standards, and collaborate with multiple teams to enable secure innovation. The role emphasizes enterprise security leadership, automation, and data-driven insights to improve audit readiness and risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information systems or similar fields of study or equivalent advanced level experience.
• Expert-level experience developing, implementing, or integrating technologies for Enterprise security.
• Experience designing automated compliance controls and continuous controls monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide security guidance to application and Partner Teams to remediate vulnerabilities, risk items and policy exceptions.
• Deliver training for clients on key Cybersecurity systems and automated environments.
• Lead testing and implement system enhancements preserving integrity.
• Develop, test and operate end-to-end software solutions using ML and related optimization.
• Mentor technical resources and coach on cybersecurity matters.
