Job summary

Eliassen Group, a strategic consulting firm, is seeking a hands-on Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to strengthen and scale practices across a growing software organization. You will lead vulnerability management, compliance initiatives, secure development practices, and overall cybersecurity operations.

The role requires 8–12+ years of experience, ability to work with federal security standards, and collaboration with engineering teams. W2 basis, contract-to-hire with benefits.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of software engineering, infrastructure, or technology experience.
• Hands-on background investigating vulnerabilities and implementing fixes.
• Strong understanding of federal cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements.
• Experience with environments governed by FedRAMP, NIST, FISMA, RMF, ATOs, or related standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, executives, and government customers.
• Experience supporting cloud-hosted applications and enterprise software platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity initiatives across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Identify, analyze, and remediate vulnerabilities across applications and infrastructure.
• Partner with software engineers to integrate security throughout the development lifecycle.
• Support compliance efforts related to federal security standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in security assessments, audits, and risk management activities.
• Contribute to incident response, vulnerability management, and security monitoring.
