Eliassen Group is seeking a hands-on Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to strengthen and scale cybersecurity across a growing software organization supporting mission-critical environments. This role focuses on vulnerability management, compliance initiatives, secure software development, and security operations.

The ideal candidate will partner with engineering teams, own security challenges from identification to resolution, and help implement robust security processes.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of software engineering, infrastructure, or technology experience.
• Hands-on background investigating vulnerabilities and implementing fixes.
• Strong understanding of federal cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements.
• Experience with FedRAMP, NIST, FISMA, STIGs, RMF, ATOs, or related standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, executives, and government customers.
• Proven track record of taking ownership and driving issues through resolution.
• Experience supporting cloud-hosted applications and enterprise software platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity initiatives across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Identify, analyze, and remediate vulnerabilities in applications and infrastructure.
• Partner with software engineers to integrate security throughout the development lifecycle.
• Support compliance efforts related to federal standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in security assessments, audits, and risk management activities.
• Improve security processes, release controls, and operational procedures.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and recommend preventative measures.
• Serve as a technical resource during customer discussions and security reviews.
• Contribute to incident response, vulnerability management, and security monitoring activities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and leadership teams.
