Job summary

STEELGATE LLC seeks a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer / ISSO at Quantico, VA to provide cybersecurity engineering, information assurance, vulnerability management, incident response, and compliance support for DoD/USMC environments. This full-time role requires a Secret clearance and hands-on security expertise.

You will work with government cybersecurity leadership and cross-functional teams to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, implement STIGs, monitor

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance is required.
• 7–10+ years of progressively responsible cybersecurity experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS, IS, or related field.
• Experience performing ISSO/ISSM or equivalent enterprise cybersecurity functions.
• Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies and STIGs.

Responsibilities

• Perform ISSO/ISSM cybersecurity support functions for assigned systems and networks.
• Implement and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, plans, and documentation.
• Support DoD/USMC cybersecurity requirements across enterprise IT systems.
• Conduct cybersecurity engineering reviews and provide security recommendations.
• Monitor STIGs, vulnerabilities, and security updates; coordinate remediation.
• Support incident identification, response, investigation, and forensics.
• Support zero trust principles and approved security tools.
