Job summary

Austin Industries, Inc. is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer for our Dallas, TX headquarters.

You will design, implement, and maintain security controls across on‑prem and cloud environments, acting as a technical authority in cybersecurity engineering and leading architecture reviews. You will partner with SOC, IT Operations, and Infrastructure to reduce risk, support audits, and advance Zero Trust initiatives while mentoring junior engineers and delivering scalable security solutions

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in a Cybersecurity Engineering role
• Experience implementing and supporting enterprise DLP, SIEM/XDR, and SOAR
• Scripting and security automation with PowerShell, Python, Ansible or similar
• Certifications: CISSP, GSP, or Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert
• Knowledge of CIS Controls, NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, ISO/IEC 27001
• Travel to remote sites and occasional conferences may be required
• Legally authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorship offered

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments
• Engineer and support security solutions for endpoint protection, IAM, network security, data protection, and cloud security
• Lead secure architecture reviews to ensure security by design
• Evaluate, select, and implement tooling (EDR/XDR, SIEM, DLP, CASB, email security, vulnerability management)
• Develop threat detection mechanisms aligned with MITRE ATT&CK
• Support incident response activities and drills; collaborate with SOC and IT teams
• Lead vulnerability management, risk assessments, and remediation guidance
• Assist with threat modeling and security assessments of critical systems
• Secure cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) with best practices; advance Zero Trust and passwordless IAM
• Provide governance support for CIS, NIST, and ISO frameworks and support audits
• Mentor analysts and engineers; develop knowledge base and training for Helpdesk
