Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.

• In-depth knowledge of network, system, cloud (AWS/Azure), and application security.
• Experience with security tooling (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, EDR).
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP, GIAC are desirable.

About the Role

A leading cybersecurity consultancy is looking for a highly experienced Senior Cybersecurity Consultant to join their dynamic team. This role is based in Welkom, Free State , and involves providing expert advisory services to a diverse range of clients across various industries. You will be responsible for assessing client security postures, identifying vulnerabilities, and designing tailored security strategies and solutions. This consultancy role demands excellent analytical skills, a deep understanding of current threat landscapes, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and executive audiences. You will play a crucial role in helping clients enhance their resilience against cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities

Conducting in-depth security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management for client environments. Developing comprehensive cybersecurity strategies and roadmaps tailored to client needs and risk profiles. Advising clients on the implementation of security controls, best practices, and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST). Designing and architecting secure solutions for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises infrastructure. Leading security incident response efforts for clients, including investigation, containment, and recovery. Providing expert guidance on data privacy regulations (e.g., POPIA). Developing and delivering security awareness training programs for client personnel. Staying current with emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, and regulatory changes. Contributing to the development of new service offerings and thought leadership materials for the consultancy.

Requirements

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. A minimum of 6 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong background in consulting or advisory roles. Proven expertise in penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, and risk management methodologies. In-depth knowledge of network security, system security, cloud security (AWS, Azure), and application security. Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and client engagements simultaneously. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP, or GIAC are highly desirable.
