Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy secure network architectures and systems.
• Implement and manage security tools and technologies, including firewalls, endpoint protection, and SIEM systems.
• Conduct security assessments and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities.
• Develop and automate security workflows and incident response playbooks.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Monitor security systems for threats and respond effectively to security incidents.
• Develop and maintain security documentation, including policies, standards, and procedures.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security team members.
• Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or a related technical role.
• Strong expertise in network security, cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), and application security.
• Proficiency with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
• Experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and vulnerability management tools.
• Knowledge of security best practices, frameworks (e.g., NIST), and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Experience working in a financial services environment in or near Welkom, Free State is preferred.
