Vantor in Colorado is seeking a Senior Staff Software Systems Engineer - Cybersecurity & Compliance to act as senior technical authority ensuring cybersecurity and compliance for complex software-intensive mission systems. Working across engineering, cybersecurity, program and operations, you translate requirements into practical technical solutions while maintaining mission effectiveness and engineering velocity.

Travel may be required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical field related to systems engineering, CS, or cybersecurity.
Experience applying systems engineering to complex software-intensive systems in regulated environments.
Experience implementing cybersecurity compliance frameworks such as NIST, CMMC, or comparable standards.
Strong understanding of modern software architecture, cloud tech, and secure development practices.
Ability to translate security and compliance requirements into engineering solutions.
Active U.S. Government security clearance appropriate for the role.
Excellent communication and technical leadership to influence teams and customers.

Responsibilities

Serve as the senior technical authority for cybersecurity and compliance across software-intensive mission systems.
Translate compliance requirements into technical direction and engineering priorities.
Lead the integration of cyber and compliance into system architecture and development processes.
Assess risk, identify gaps, and guide remediation strategies with engineering teams.
Support security assessments, accreditation activities, and continuous compliance efforts.
Mentor engineers and promote secure systems engineering practices across teams.
Champion AI-assisted engineering while maintaining security and data protection requirements.
