Job summary

Plains Marketing, a Houston-based energy transport and midstream leader, seeks a senior Solution Architect, Cyber Security to define a risk-based security framework for critical IT/OT assets, including on-premise and cloud environments.

You will evaluate security tools, lead risk assessments and ensure compliance with regulations such as FERC and NERC-CIP, while communicating security concepts to technical and business stakeholders and guiding strategic security investments.

Qualifications

• Requires 10+ years in IT/OT cybersecurity architecture, risk management, and defense strategy within large organizations.
• Proficient in security frameworks (NIST, ISO, FERC, IEC, TOGAF) and regulatory requirements in the midstream energy sector.
• Excellent communication with technical and business stakeholders; ability to translate security concepts for diverse audiences.
• Experience with M&A and architectural integration is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IT/OT cybersecurity architecture protecting on-premise or cloud infrastructure and data.
• Lead evaluation and selection of security tools, systems, controls, and practices based on risk assessments.
• Lead Technical Risk Assessments and Vendor Risk Assessments with qualitative and quantitative analysis.
• Provide guidance on cyber security risk management, categorizing vulnerabilities into programmatic delivery areas.
• Interpret regulations impacting the midstream energy sector (FERC, NERC-CIP) and translate into actionable activities to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with other Solution Architect functions to ensure cybersecurity designs are pragmatic and aligned with business strategy.
• Drive strategic investments in security technologies and initiatives based on a risk-focused ROI lens.
• Prioritize cybersecurity projects based on risk, impact, and resources.
• Demonstrate expertise in architectural hardening and emerging threat awareness.
• Experience with M&A and architectural integration.
