Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect to design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive security architecture across diverse environments. You will lead security strategy, governance, and incident response while collaborating with executive leadership to align with business goals.

The role requires deep expertise in security controls, cloud and on‑prem networks, and adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years in cybersecurity with 5+ years in a leadership/architect role.
• Deep understanding of security architectures across network, cloud, data, and endpoint security.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS).
• Experience with security tools: firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, EDR.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements in transportation/logistics (CCPA, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
• Proven ability to lead security strategy, risk management, and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of a comprehensive cybersecurity architecture strategy.
• Design secure IT environments including network, cloud, and identity management.
• Architect and implement security controls for on-prem and cloud infrastructure.
• Conduct risk assessments of current technologies to meet security standards.
• Develop and maintain a cybersecurity governance framework and standards.
• Collaborate with leadership to define strategy, risk appetite, and incident response.
• Oversee integration of security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability mgmt).
• Ensure compliance with NIST CSF, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, HIPAA and related regs.
• Lead vulnerability assessments and third-party risk management efforts.
• Develop incident response plans and coordinate cross-team response.
