Job summary

Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services in Jackson, MS is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst III to lead security monitoring, incident response, and policy development. This senior role collaborates with IT leadership to strengthen MDRS’s security posture, manage SIEM, firewalls, EDR/XDR, and cloud security controls.

You will review security logs, analyze alerts, conduct vulnerability assessments, coordinate remediation, and support internal/external audits while mentoring junior analysts

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT or related field; 5–8+ years of IT/security experience preferred.
• Experience with threat detection, incident response, and security monitoring required.
• Strong knowledge of SIEM, EDR/XDR, and cloud security controls; proven ability to implement remediation strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily security operations and monitoring at MDRS.
• Review security logs, analyze alerts, and manage EDR/XDR and SIEM tooling.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation activities.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation; support audits.
• Collaborate with IT and business units to advance Zero Trust and identity security initiatives.
