DUAL North America, Inc. is seeking a Senior Underwriter for the Cyber division, with a Hybrid role based in Chicago, IL (also supporting New York, NY). The role centers on underwriting complex cyber submissions, guiding risk selection, and growing broker relationships.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of underwriting experience, a risk-management or business background, and certifications such as CPCU/AU. Travel up to 25% is expected; MS Office proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, or business preferred.
• 5–8 years of underwriting experience.
• Professional certifications such as CPCU, AU, or similar preferred.
• In-depth understanding of technical underwriting principles and risk assessment.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Proven ability to manage and build broker and client relationships.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to travel up to 25% for client meetings.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite complex insurance risks within granted authorities by analyzing exposure and coverage needs.
• Ensure submissions meet underwriting standards for profitability.
• Curate a portfolio per guidelines with discretion in portfolio selection.
• Identify changes in risk exposures and loss trends to maximize profitability.
• Collaborate with management to define and achieve team production goals.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to others on the team; may lead 1–2 direct reports.
• Quote and bind accounts; negotiate within authority to meet profit objectives.
• Build relationships with producers through travel and industry events.
