Job summary

Macquarie Group is seeking a Cyber Threat Detection Engineer to design and evolve threat detection across a global enterprise. You will build, implement, and tune detection mechanisms while contributing to automation and scale, leveraging your expertise in SIEMs and threat hunting.

You will collaborate within a distributed team, applying software development practices to improve detection fidelity and respond to evolving cyber threats in a global financial services environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of cybersecurity experience in detection engineering, security operations, or incident response.
• Strong threat detection and hunting expertise, including MITRE ATT&CK, vulnerabilities and exploits across log sources.
• Hands-on with SIEM and analytics platforms and building/detecting logic in enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and implement effective detection mechanisms to identify threats.
• Identify advanced threats across a large, complex enterprise environment.
• Blend traditional security analysis with software development to automate threat detection.
