Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Maryland is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Systems Engineer (CSSE) to lead cyber systems engineering activities for the Sentinel program based in Annapolis Junction. This on-site role requires strong leadership, DoD knowledge, and collaboration across engineering teams.

The Sr. Staff CSSE will guide security-engineering efforts, maintain compliance with CNSSI, DoD 8140/8570, and related standards, and drive risk-based decisions to ensure mission success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years, or Master 12+ years, or PhD 10+ years in a technical field.
• Active DoD Secret clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret w/SCI
• IASAE II (CISSP) certification and potential IASAE III within 6 months
• 8+ years in systems engineering leadership with schedule, cost, and scope responsibilities
• Experience with Cyber Systems Engineering and DoD SDLC

Responsibilities

• Lead cyber systems engineering teams in SOW, cost, schedule, and scope.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to meet program requirements.
• Lead a team of NGMS Cybersecurity Systems Engineers on the Sentinel system.
• Ensure weapon system cybersecurity standards compliance (CNSSI 1253, DoD 8140/8570, DoD 8510, AFI 17-101).
• Develop and document standard engineering processes and procedures.
• Lead cybersecurity assessment, testing, and reporting activities.
