Job summary

Peraton in Maryland is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with an active TS/SCI clearance to lead systems engineering for complex DoD programs. You will develop requirements, guide design and integration, and ensure technical integrity across hardware and software throughout the life cycle.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Twenty (20) years of Systems Engineering experience on programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• In lieu of a degree, an additional five (5) years of relevant Systems Engineering experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements, concepts of operations documents, and high‑level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
• Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities.
• Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.
• Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
• Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
• Develop technical documentation and system design documentation.
• Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
• Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
• Assume the ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables.
• Communicate with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
• Develop comprehensive SOA solutions and views for architectures using DoDAF standards.
• Conduct end‑to‑end system trade analyses to optimize life‑cycle operations.
• Use validated models, simulations, and prototyping to mitigate risk and reduce cost.
• Ensure effective configuration management of hardware and software throughout the life of the system.
• Serve as a member of the CCB or ERB.
