Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Launch and Missile Defense Systems seeks a Principal Cyber Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL to support the GMD Ground Weapon System. You will work with the GNI team to design and develop classified networks for government customers, focusing on cybersecurity across OSI layers and secure, encrypted delivery of products and services.

The role requires DoD Secret clearance, DoD 8140/8570 certification, and strong collaboration with software teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years cyber systems experience or Master's degree with 3 years.
DoD Active Secret clearance required.
DoD 8140/8570 certification (e.g. Security+ CE).
Experience on large-scale missile defense system programs.
Excellent written and communication skills.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
Experience with Agile software development methodologies, OO architecture, software integration and testing.

Responsibilities

Install and configure networking equipment, troubleshoot, design network and implement security measures.
Document and verify all installation/config steps.
Collaborate with developers/vendors to diagnose and root-cause problems.
Submit problem reports per Agile processes and coordinate daily integrations with CFPTs.
Provide redlines to engineers and feedback to Leadership as needed.
Document lessons learned and industry security practices in daily tasks.
