Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Senior Associate in Global Cyber Risk Services to lead hands-on penetration testing and red team engagements. You will emulate adversaries, test networks, apps, and cloud configurations, and drive improvements in detection and response for clients across industries.

The role requires OSCP or equivalent, 3-6 years of offensive security experience, and the ability to communicate complex findings clearly in written reports. Occasional weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Active Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) required.
• Hands-on penetration tests across networks, web apps, and Active Directory.
• Experience with standard offensive tools and frameworks.
• Scripting or programming skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash, C#/Go).
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, OWASP Top 10.
• Strong report-writing skills for executive-facing findings.
• Willing to work weekends and/or off hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform hands-on penetration tests across networks, apps, APIs, and AD.
• Execute red team and adversary emulation engagements using MITRE ATT&CK.
• Develop and customize offensive tooling, and test defenses within scope.
• Conduct cloud and hybrid-identity testing across cloud environments.
• Run purple team exercises to validate detection and response capabilities.
• Perform social engineering assessments within approved scope.
• Test AI-enabled applications and agentic systems for security weaknesses.
• Support threat simulations, war-gaming, and risk assessment activities.
• Produce clear, actionable reports with remediation guidance.
• Develop tools and share assets; mentor junior colleagues.
