Job summary

Ascot Group is seeking an Underwriting Specialist for its Cyber and Professional Liability unit to grow a diverse suite of cyber-driven products. You will be responsible for profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book within a defined territory, underwriting new and renewal business, and building strong relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of underwriting experience in the financial lines insurance industry, with Cyber/Professional Liability preferred.
• Strong knowledge of insurance, regulations, and the industry.
• Collaborative, fast-paced, entrepreneurial mindset.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities.
• Willingness to travel 10-15%.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage profitability, growth and retention of Cyber and E&O book.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Monitor premiums, costs and claims ratios; take corrective actions for profitability.
• Operate within delegated underwriting authority and refer when needed.
• Cultivate relationships with brokers and internal partners to identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Support product development and operational excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
