Job summary

Ascot Group in Chicago, IL is seeking an Underwriting Specialist to drive profitability, growth, and retention for cyber and E&O lines. You will underwrite new and renewal business, negotiate complex accounts, and build strong relationships with brokers and internal partners to support AscotPro appetite and strategy.

The role requires at least seven years of underwriting experience in financial lines, with strong cyber and professional liability knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 7 years underwriting experience in financial lines insurance, with Cyber/Professional Liability preferred.
• Deep knowledge of insurance, regulations, and industry practices.
• Strong collaboration, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Willingness to travel 10–15%.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention of a cyber/E&O book within delegated authority.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to maximize profitability.
• Monitor premiums, costs, and claims ratios; take corrective actions as needed.
• Build relationships with brokers, internal partners, and external stakeholders to identify opportunities.
• Collaborate across teams to support product development and operational excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
