Job summary

Two Six Technologies in Arlington, VA seeks a Senior CNO Developer to join our communications systems team, transforming advanced research into mission-ready cyber capabilities.

You will design custom tools for embedded/telecom systems, collaborate with reverse engineers and hardware teams, and transition PoCs into robust software following DevOps best practices, in a high-impact, security-clearance environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field; security research/RE/Exploit experience can substitute for a degree.
• 5+ years designing and/or prototyping applications using agile software development processes.
• 2+ years experience with Python, C, or C++.
• 2+ years experience with OS internals (privilege models, user groups, binary memory layout).
• 2+ years experience with network socket programming and IP/TCP protocols.
• 2+ years experience with reverse engineering x86/ARM binaries or embedded systems.
• Experience tracing code in debuggers (WinDbg, GDB).
• Expertise in firmware analysis, fuzzing, or exploit development.
• Familiarity with wireless protocols and memory protection concepts.
• Graduate degree in related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom tools for embedded and telecom systems.
• Serve as a cyber capability developer on a small, focused team.
• Develop proofs-of-concept from vulnerabilities and mature them into robust codebase.
• Analyze firmware, OS internals, and wireless protocols to identify security flaws.
• Perform reverse engineering on complex Linux-based and embedded systems.
• Extend tools to analyze/manipulate binaries; develop new capabilities.
• Collaborate with engineers, researchers, and hardware teams in fast-paced settings.
• Tackle complex technical challenges with limited prior experience.
• Engage with transition partners and mission stakeholders on technical decisions.
