Job summary

MITRE’s Cyber Threat Intelligence department seeks a Principal Cyber Intelligence Engineer to join our team and advance research in cyber intelligence for government and private sector sponsors. You will lead projects, mentor teams, and collaborate across MITRE to shape capabilities and programs that address national and global challenges.

Qualifications

• Typically requires 10+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s, 8+ years with a Master’s, or 5+ years with a PhD.
• Experience with U.S. government cybersecurity agencies, intelligence agencies, authorities, and relationships.
• Ability to mentor teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience applying MITRE ATT&CK in operational environments.

Responsibilities

• Apply cyber intelligence expertise to solve sponsors' hardest problems across defensive operations and critical infrastructure.
• Guide sponsors in building cyber intelligence capabilities and programs.
• Review sponsor tools and recommend analytic methodologies and AI integration.
• Demonstrate expertise in threat analysis, including intrusion and malware analysis and actor profiling.
• Develop approaches to integrate CTI with threat hunting, detection, and incident response.
