Job summary

ERCOT in Taylor, Texas seeks an experienced cyber security engineer to advance our cyber security program. You will administer, configure, tune, and maintain security platforms, controls, and related processes to protect ERCOT systems and critical infrastructure.

Collaborate with IT, business, and vendor teams, drive vulnerability management, support regulatory compliance, and guide less experienced analysts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related work experience beyond degree requirements.
• Bachelor's Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, MIS, or related discipline (preferred).
• CISSP, SANS, or other relevant cybersecurity certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers and maintains security platforms, tools, controls, integrations, and related processes.
• Leads implementation, testing, lifecycle management, and improvement of security technologies across on‑prem, cloud, hybrid environments.
• Performs vulnerability management activities, including review, validation, prioritization, reporting, and remediation coordination.
• Coordinates with IT, business, cyber security, and vendor teams to implement security solutions and address risks.
• Develops and maintains technical documentation, procedures, and operational guidance.
