Job summary

Southern Company Services is seeking an Operational Cyber Security Engineer/Analyst to join our Generation Cyber Security Program. You will perform cyber assessments at generation facilities focusing on NERC CIP requirements, develop documentation, and support projects with cyber standards.

The role involves expanding capabilities in networking and security tools like Splunk, with a mix of in-office and remote work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems preferred.
• Security certification preferred.
• Experience with Industrial Control System/SCADA security preferred.
• Experience with NERC CIP, NIST SP 800-82 preferred.
• Experience with systems security management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver cohesive messages about the Program, Policies, and Requirements to customers and colleagues.
• Support automation of information reporting for cyber standards compliance.
• Lead cyber assessments verifying compliance to Company Policies and Requirements.
• Provide technical analysis via Cyber Security Reviews for OT projects.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and network diagrams.
• Participate on project teams to implement NERC CIP requirements.
