Job summary

Employees Retirement System of Texas is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst II to perform journey-level cybersecurity analysis, administer security technologies, and support vulnerability management. This role emphasizes maintaining current defenses, assisting with incident response, and maturing agency security in alignment with standards.

Under the Information Security Officer, you will help prioritize security initiatives, monitor systems, and document security events while ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Graduation from a four-year college with a cybersecurity or related degree.
• Two years’ experience in enterprise cybersecurity tools and technologies.
• Two years’ experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Administers and supports enterprise security applications and infrastructure.
• Maintains and updates security tools, engines, signatures, and feeds.
• Optimizes security platforms including SIEM and endpoint protection.
• Prioritizes operational security initiatives with the Information Security Officer.
• Monitors systems for health, availability, and policy compliance.
• Assists with implementing and maintaining security controls.
• Supports incident response activities and documentation of events.
• Provides guidance on cybersecurity tools and best practices.
• Contributes to security metrics, reporting, and awareness initiatives.
